EDUCATION MINISTRY

The Education Ministry is about the renewing of our minds. It is the place where we investigate our deep beliefs and perceptions and have the opportunity to be exposed to and embrace new paradigms. It is introspective, reflective, as well as revolutionary, in that it provides an opportunity for us to challenge many of the ideas that we harbor that are cross-purposes with our divine unfoldment. The three major programs of Inner Light’s Education Ministry are the Formal Curriculum Program, the Spiritual Development Program, and Continuing Education.

Formal Curriculum Program

The Formal Curriculum Program consists of a two-year Core Curriculum and two-year Practitioner Training. Students in the program learn about Universal Spiritual Principles and the practical application of these principles to all of life’s circumstances. The Formal Curriculum Program is facilitated by a team of Practitioners and licensed ministers with Rev. Deborah Johnson serving as the lead.

Core Curriculum

Inner Light’s Core Curriculum is a two-year program consisting of six classes taken sequentially. Students are expected to commit to the full year of classes at either level of the program.

  Year One:

• Fundamentals of Metaphysics (Fall)
• Prayer Works (Winter)
• Abundant Living (Spring)

  Year Two:

• Principles in Action (Fall)
• A Clean Heart (Winter)
• Spiritual Embodiment (Spring)

The Core Curriculum is designed to help participants learn how to:

• Practically apply Universal Spiritual Principles;
• Demystify how and why prayer works;
• Explore metaphysical concepts;
• Manifest through the embodiment of spiritual qualities;and
• Give and receive support in spiritual community.

If you have ever wondered “What are they talking about?,” yearned for more discipline in your spiritual practice, or wanted to grow with others consciously walking their path, then Core Curriculum may be for you.

Practitioner Training Program:

Practitioners are change agents in the world who commit to using the power of prayer to heal, uplift, and empower the individual and collective consciousness. The Practitioner Training Program is two years long and consists of six classes taken sequentially:

  Year One:

• Going Deeper (Fall)
• The Power of Oneness (Winter)
• Embodying and Multiplying Consciousness (Spring)

  Year Two:

• Humanity and Spirituality (Fall)
• Standing in Spiritual Authority (Winter)
• Stepping Unto (Spring)

The Practitioner Training program is designed to:

• Create an environment for on-going self-reflection, healing, and forgiveness
• Provide tools for clarifying and being in alignment with one ’s intent
• Strengthen communication and conflict resolution skills
• Develop cross-cultural awareness and compassion

Practitioner students will work together to:

• Use the power of prayer as first choice in all situations
• Experience a connection to the Divine as a way of being in the world
• Practice Oneness through the art of co-ministry
• Be of greater service

The Practitioner Training program is open to everyone who has completed all requirements of the Inner Light Ministries’ two-year Core Curriculum Program, including an entrance assessment into the program.

Spiritual Development Program

In addition to our four year Formal Curriculum Program, Inner Light also offers many workshops and classes are on a variety of subject matters, all aimed at assisting us in living more fruitful lives in alignment with our spiritual essence. The Spiritual Development Program offers a number of time-limited classes on a quarterly basis. These classes and workshops are all sponsored by one of Inner Light’s ministries, so topics range from such things as abundance and creative expression to healing arts and play.

Continuing Education

Our Continuing Education Program consists of classes and workshops to promote continued learning, growth, and spiritual development for Practitioners and Ministers. At times, current Practitioner students are also invited to participate in these classes. Sample topics include cultural diversity trainings, metaphysical Bible study, and facilitation trainings. Typically, announcements about these offerings are distributed directly to the target populations for the particular class or workshop.
