ENVIRONMENTAL MINISTRY

The Environmental Ministry of ILM invites community collaboration to infuse sustainable living into all aspects of Inner Light Ministries, and is committed to bringing spiritual consciousness of Oneness into our personal and global caretaking of our Earth.

The Environmental Ministry focuses its efforts in the following areas:

• Divine Right Transportation – Reduces the environmental footprint of our community as they commute to and from ILM events, and beyond.
• Education – Invites our community to go deeper in knowledge and practice of living in harmony with Mother Earth.
• Community and Inclusivity – Collaborates with the local and global community, making sure our work is accessible to and inclusive of everyone.
• ILM Ecosystem – Focuses on our “ecosystem” of operations at the Inner Light Center, holding the intention of restoring nature and producing zero waste.
• Environmental consciousness – Roots our actions in prayer and possibility consciousness for Divine Right Relationship with the earth.

Examples of the Environmental Ministry in action at Inner Light:

• Our Sustainability Station diverts from landfill nearly all solid waste produced during Sunday Services.
• Our compost bins and the children’s garden demonstrate for kids (and adults!) how healthy food comes from and returns to the earth.
• Inner Light Ministries was certified by the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program in 2009 to demonstrate our commitment to green operations.
• Inner Light Ministries will sponsor and host Green Business Camp Santa Cruz 2009 with the intention of increasing green business activity and prosperity in our area (and beyond).
