POSITION:    Office Coordinator (newly created)

EFFECTIVE:  Starting late March, 2020

SALARY:       $20/hour

HOURS:         20 hours/week Tuesday-Friday flexible, Sunday AM, some Saturdays.

Progressive, radically inclusive, Omnifaith spiritual community in Santa Cruz, CA seeks creative highly organized Office Coordinator to oversee office and administrative functions. Proactively responding to changes in how people approach spirituality, Inner Light is reimagining the organization’s future, including selling its current property and relocating to a new facility. The Office Coordinator will assist in the move and is responsible for setting up the new office and its systems. The Office Coordinator works in alignment with the program and administrative staff, reporting to the founder and Spiritual Director, Rev Deborah L Johnson, who will be expanding global outreach and virtual engagement.

The purpose of the newly designed Office Coordinator position is to:

  • Oversee office functions – establish systems and protocols
  • Provide stability, continuity, and innovation to the organizational transition;
  • Nurture the community to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and impact;
  • Support programs and events including Sunday Services;
  • Interface with volunteers and cultivate leadership;
  • Be a face of the organization;
  • Foster collaborations and nurture alliances

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily activities of the interim Santa Cruz Inner Light Office, 3-4 employees
  • Manage facilities – likely a small space
  • Foster collegial relationships, innovative thinking, and creative problem-solving
  • Keep the community organized
  • Schedule, approve, and execute contracts for space and services
  • Help develop and implement the master calendar
  • Purchase and procure equipment and supplies
  • Approve payables, vendor contracts and relations, and reimbursements
  • Maintain database records and oversee conversion to a CRM system
  • Monitor security systems
  • Manage VOIP (internet) phone system, computers, work with IT consultant
  • Oversee donation portals
  • Coordinate internal communications and triage information requests
  • Assist with events and Sunday Services
  • Provide synthesizing reports as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Highly disciplined self-starter able to work independently with a minimum 3 years formal or informal experience in:

  • Working in a business or organizational environment
  • Creating, implementing, or maintaining data systems
  • Participating in spiritual community(ies)
  • Demonstrates ability to initiate, facilitate, and implement strategies
  • Communicates well verbally and in writing
  • Proficiently uses technology and social media platforms
  • Able to manage data and create spreadsheets
  • Able to create and manage budgets
  • Interact amicably and collegially with the ability to resolve conflicts
  • Good team player able to work in co-ministry with other staff and volunteers
  • Conducts oneself with the highest ethical and professional standards
  • Advocates for and works comfortably in diverse and inclusive environments
  • Promotes and participates in spiritually guided transformational activism
  • Embodies and applies Universal Spiritual Principles personally and professionally –
