Affirmation:

I know that there are forces within me that are at odds, a battle rages there

There is both acceptance and judgment

There is both the impulse to spread peace, and the impulse to attack

The impulse to give with an open heart, and the impulse to grab

for what I think should be mine

The part that says, “You are a spiritual giant! They should listen to you!” and the part that says, “You are nothing. You should be ashamed of your self.”

On this day I refuse to dismiss or exile those parts that, in the past, I’ve seen as negative or bad

I accept them all as divine

Knowing my shadow is a part of me

Knowing that befriending my shadow is the path to liberation

Knowing that embodying these parts consciously will keep me from being run by them unconsciously!

So I affirm that I am bigger than my self-judgments

That I have more love for self and other, than fear of my hidden daemons

That I am bold in my truth telling, bold in my self-exploration

And I accept everything I find within
